Top Fives
I have links on the side of the blog here, because they're sites I enjoy going to. And I would wholeheartedly recommend them to you, as well.
In perusing the links the other day, as I'm suffering from the dynamic duo of ennui and writer's/blog block, I saw Chad Finn did a series of top 5 lists, ranging from sports to movies to all kinds of other stuff.
So since imitation is the highest form of flattery and most of my best ideas are stolen ones (and with Mssr. Finn's blessing), I thought I'd take a stab at it.

1. Billy Donovan, Providence (that 1987 Providence team is still one of my all-time favorite memories of my life.)
2. Steve Novak, Marquette (yeah, you can roll your eyes, but have YOU ever seen anyone get 41 and 16 on UConn?)
3. Hank Gathers & Bo Kimble, Loyola Marymount (My mom woke me up the morning after Hank died and I cried...couldn't even go to school)
4. Greg Francis, Fairfield (almost single-handedly made history with a 16 beating a 1 back in '97 vs. North Carolina)

Good stuff... here are my additions:
Players I loved Watching - Have to include Iverson, the quickest guard EVER...saw him play against Marbury in the Garden - they were both so fast they couldn't guard one another... Ray Allen...pure icewater in his veins...Len Bias - I shed a few tears when he died... But I must agree, Freak was the BEST... nobody enjoyed playing the game more... and his floater down the lane is legendary.
My Top 5 College Hoop teams of all-time:
1985 Villanova Wildcats: Love the underdogs, and there has never been a bigger one.. plus my dad coached John Pinone in HS, too bad Pinone graduated in '84. So I had a perosn link to this team.
98 Iona Gaels - A team that should have beaten the 'Cuse, led by Freak, Kash, J-Mac and D Mitchell (talk about cool under fire.)
01 UConn Huskies - Fun to watch, and tough to find a better inside-out combo than Gordon and Okafor the last 10 years.
96 Kentuck Wildcats - perhaps the most talented team in the history of college hoops...A. Walker, T. Delk, D. Anderson, R. Mercer, N. Mohammad, J. Pricket, M. Pope, W. McCarty...LOADED.
and finally, the Runnin' Rebels of UNLV from the 90-91 seasons... outside of their slip-up against Duke in the Final 4, they were as dominant a team as I have ever watched... LJ, Augmon, Hunt, and Anthony... pure fun to watch run and gun.

I was going to use "Top 5 Lady Gaels I Ever Watched Play" but I really couldn't name one other than your wife and Shutz.
Dominique combined power with finesse like no player before him or since him has been able to replicate. He is one of the most underrated players in NBA history, and was overlooked because he didnt have a flashy persona.
